Beginning Monday, March 14th, 2022, all Neptune Township Police Officers will be equipped with brand-new Panasonic iPro 400 Body-Worn Cameras (BWCs). In addition, a major upgrade is underway for the Mobile Video Recorder (MVR) camera system in all of our patrol vehicles. While this is the NTPD’s first time deploying BWCs, our patrol vehicles have been equipped with MVR systems for many years. All of our officers and SLEO II’s have been trained in the operation of the BWCs and will be utilizing them on calls for service, motor vehicle stops, investigations, and for any other incident within the officer’s discretion pursuant to NTPD, Monmouth County Prosecutor’s Office, and New Jersey Attorney General’s policies. The NTPD firmly believes that the BWCs will be an asset to both the public and to our officers as well as helping to increase transparency and foster trust within our community. Below are examples of our new BWCs and where you can find them on our officer’s uniforms.
