(Neptune, NJ) – Neptune Twp. Police executed a search warrant at a township motel which resulted in the arrest of a 26-year-old Matawan man wanted for burglaries of local businesses, property damage and the theft of two vehicles.
Neptune Twp. Detectives arrested Jose A. Concepcion on Friday May 19, 2023 after he was identified as the accused in the attempted break in and damage to the Asbury Park Circle Car Wash, which occurred early in the morning on May 18, 2023 and for the burglary later that morning when he was able to make entry into The Best Reconditioning Center located on SH 35 and Columbus Ave. by shattering a window to the business. Once inside, Concepcion located keys for two different vehicles. He proceeded to drive through the bay door with a stolen 2019 Jeep Grand Cherokee, causing extensive damage to both the building and the vehicle. After doing so, Concepcion abandoned the Jeep Cherokee in the street and proceeded to remove a 2018 BMW 430 from within the business, ultimately fleeing the scene in the car. The stolen BMW was located shortly after unoccupied in Eatontown, NJ.
Through investigative means, the accused was identified and Concepcion was taken into custody without incident. He was charged with Burglary (two counts), Criminal Attempt Burglary, Criminal Mischief (two counts), Theft of a Motor Vehicle (two counts), Possession of Burglar’s Tools and issued numerous motor vehicle summonses.
Concepcion was transported to Monmouth County Correctional Institution pending a detention hearing in accordance with bail reform.
